What’s good Creek? First of all, I just want to thank you for chopping it up with me, I’m sure the fans’ll really appreciate it. I know you’re a busy man so we’ll get right into it.. Can you tell us how you first hooked up with Eminem & Shady Records? I hooked up with Eminem through a mutual friend. I had a deal at Loud records with Steve Rifkin and I was in a group at the time. Through that situation, I stayed in touch with an A&R I had by the name of Shawn Kane who eventually got me in touch with Shady. The rest is history! Okay and since you’ve been signed to Shady, you’ve released quite abit of material but is there any potential release date for your first major debut album? I don’t have a date as of yet. We just pushing forward to get everything finished but as soon as things are finished then we’ll probably hop on schedule and give y’all that date. But for now, let’s just say late ‘09. That’s good news, and you have a mixtape dropping before that correct? Yeah, BC Era deuce, which should drop around the 18th of March! Definitely looking forward to that. Now back to your album, do you have any big collaboration’s on the project? What’s a bigger collaboration then Eminem? I definitely got the homie on there and I’ll probably have more surprises, but I won’t let the cat out of the bag just yet but look forward for more surprises! And what about production? Will Eminem be apart of that as well? No doubt! Eminem, Bobby Creekwater, B.Focus, Jr. Varcity, The Alchemist and I even did something with DJ Don Cannon.. So yeah man, I’m just getting it in. How does it feel to be in the studio with such big names? It’s fly man, they creative people, they like to have fun and they like to vibe. We’re all artists and we’re all very good at what we do. So when we get in, it’s just a bunch of positive energy and just a bunch of people havin’ fun. That’s what it is.. Now Em just released his first single “Crack A Bottle” in which you and Cashis remixed.. Can you tell me how that came about? Real simple, me and Cashis got in the studio and did what we do best. We sent it to the powers that be and the powers that be got that out to y’all!
Now with the blogs taking over and the current decline in album sales, how do you feel about the current state of hip hop? I’m an’ optimist so I’m always gonna feel positive. Hip Hop is just like life, it’s what you make out of it. It’s just a matter of the grind that you put in to it and what you get out of it. So if you put the necessary amount into it, you’ll get the necessary amount out of it and your perception of it will be different, you’ll like, it’ll be good. If you ain’t doin’ what you supposed to do, you won’t like it. But me, I love it! Is there anyone in the game you can’t stand? No there’s not, I appreciate anyone doin’ their thing, stayin’ out of trouble and putting positive energy into the music. But with hip hop being so competitive theses days, how do you stay out of trouble and away from the beef? I just do my thing, man. I never base what I’m doing on any other individual and that’s pretty much it. I’m a grown ass man, dog, I ain’t got no problem with no people. I’m just trying to do my music and take care of my children. And aside from your music, which artists are you feeling? I like the homies, TI, Jeezy.. Kanye, I like what he’s doing, very ground-breaking and I’m very appreciative of the creativity. The homie B.O.B. - I like what he’s doing out there. I like everything from gangsta rap to hipster rap. I’m just appreciative of it all. Asher Roth, the kid Charles Hamilton, I think they pretty talented. Basically, if it sounds good, it sounds good! No doubt, now before I let you go, is there anything you’d like to say to the fans or anything you’d like to promote? I definatly gotta promote Myspace.com/BobbyCreekwater and the new website IBobbyCreek.com where you can get the all latest news on BGOV and Bobby Creek. And basically, to the fans, just try to be open-minded. Try to appreciate something for what it is and not for what it ain’t. Just keep looking forward! Shout out to Steve-O & everyone over at BGOV/Shady Records for the love!
